The Canton Cunlhat was 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Ambert in the Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . Marie-Claude Milon was the last representative on the Department's General Council from 2012 to 2015.

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 in the course of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District Ambert". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of the then Arrondissement of Ambert. From September 10, 1926 to June 1, 1942, the canton was part of the Thiers arrondissement .

The canton bordered in the north on the canton of Saint-Dier-d'Auvergne in the Arrondissement Clermond-Ferrand , in the northeast on the canton Olliergues , in the east and southeast on the canton Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine , in the south on the canton Saint- Germain-l'Herm and in the west to the canton Sauxillanges in the Arrondissement of Issoire .
