The Canton Vertaizon was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Clermont-Ferrand , in Puy-de-Dôme and the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; its main town was Vertaizon . Alain Néri ( PS ) was the representative in the General Council of the Département from 1982 to 2014 . He was followed by Martine Malterre-Puyfoulhoux (also PS).
The canton of Vertaizon was 85.53 km² and in 1999 had 9,175 inhabitants. It was on average 375 meters above sea level, between 295 meters in Beauregard-l'Évêque and 603 meters in Mezel .
