The Canton of Gerzat is a French canton in the arrondissement Clermont-Ferrand and Riom in the Puy-de-Dôme and the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; its main town is Gerzat . Bernard Auby ( PS ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1994, last re-elected in 2008 .

The canton is 44.73 km² and has 17,723 inhabitants (2017), which corresponds to a population density of 396 inhabitants per km². It lies on average at 363 meters above sea level , between 313 m in Malintrat and 818 m in Sayat .
