Sayat is a French commune with a population of 2,344 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Cébazat (until 2015: canton of Gerzat ).
In addition to the core town, the village of Argnat also belongs to the municipality .
geography
Sayat is located six kilometers north-northwest of Clermont-Ferrand on the river Bédat . Sayat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Volvic in the north, Malauzat in the northeast, Blanzat in the east and southeast, Nohanent in the south and Chanat-la-Mouteyre in the west and southwest.
The municipality is part of the Côtes d'Auvergne wine region .
