Puy-Saint-Gulmier is a French municipality with 159 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Ours (until 2015 Pontaumur ).

Puy-Saint-Gulmier is about 33 kilometers west of Clermont-Ferrand in the old cultural landscape of the Combrailles . Puy-Saint-Gulmier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Étienne-des-Champs in the north and west, Combrailles in the north and north-east, Saint-Hilaire-les-Monges in the east, Prondines in the south and south-east and Sauvagnat in the south and south-west.
