Sauvagnat Town Hall

Sauvagnat (also Sauvagnat-près-Herment ) is a French municipality with 129 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom (until 2017 Clermont-Ferrand ) and the canton of Saint-Ours (until 2015 Herment ).

Sauvagnat is located about 38 kilometers west of Clermont-Ferrand in the old cultural landscape of the Combrailles . Sauvagnat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Étienne-des-Champs in the north and north-west, Puy-Saint-Gulmier in the north, Prondines in the east, Tortebesse in the south-east, Briffons in the south, Saint-Germain-près-Herment in the south-west, Herment in the West as well as Verneugheol in the west and northwest.

In the municipality there is an airfield for microlights ( La Rochette-Sauvagnat ).
