Vitrac is a French municipality with 349 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Saint-Georges-de-Mons (until 2015: canton of Manzat ). The inhabitants are called Vitraires .
geography
Vitrac is located about 19 kilometers west-northwest of Riom and about 26 kilometers northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the Monts Dômes on the Sioule , which borders the municipality in the northwest. Vitrac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Gervais-d'Auvergne in the north and north-west, Châteauneuf-les-Bains in the north, Saint-Angel in the east and north-east, Manzat in the east and south-east, and Saint-Georges-de-Mons in the south as well Queuille to the west and northwest.
