Khanate la Mouteyre is a French commune in the Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in the Arrondissement Riom . It belonged to the canton of Royat until March 2015 and since that date to the canton of Orcines . Chanat-la-Mouteyre has 941 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
The municipality consists of the two larger localities Chanat , La Mouteyre and L'Étang .
geography
Chanat-la-Mouteyre is located about six kilometers northwest of Clermont-Ferrand in the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. The municipality is located on the Chain de Puys mountain range . The Puy de Chaumont is the highest point in the municipality at 1111 meters. Chanat-la-Mouteyre is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Volvic in the north, Sayat in the northeast, Nohanent in the east, Durtol in the southeast, Orcines in the south and Saint-Ours in the west.
