Ménétrol is a French commune with 1,635 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Riom and the canton of Châtel-Guyon (until 2015: canton of Riom-Est ). The inhabitants are called Ménétroliens .

Ménétrol is located on the Limagne about 10 kilometers north-northeast of Clermont-Ferrand . Ménétrol is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Riom in the north and north-west, Saint-Beauzire in the east, Gerzat in the south and Châteaugay in the south and west.
At the eastern edge of the municipality the Autoroute A71 / Autoroute A89 leads along, through the municipality the former Route nationale 9 (today's D2009).
