Cunlhat is located about 40 kilometers east-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park . Neighboring municipalities of Cunlhat are Domaize in the north and north-west, Tours-sur-Meymont in the north, La Chapelle-Agnon in the east, Saint-Amant-Roche-Savine in the south-east, Auzelles in the south and west and Ceilloux in the west and north-west.
