Novacelles is located about 63 kilometers southeast of Clermont-Ferrand and about 70 kilometers west of Saint-Étienne in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park . Novacelles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Bonnet-le-Chastel in the north and north-west, Arlanc in the east, Mayres in the south-east, Saint-Sauveur-la-Sagne in the south, Doranges in the south-west and Saint-Bonnet-le-Bourg in the west.
