La Chaulme is the easternmost commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department. It is located about 75 kilometers east-southeast of Clermont-Ferrand in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park . Neighboring municipalities of La Chaulme are Saint-Clément-de-Valorgue in the north, Saint-Jean-Soleymieux in the northeast, La Chapelle-en-Lafaye and Montarcher in the east and southeast, Saillant in the south and west and Saint-Romain in the northwest.
