Arlanc is a French commune with 1,892 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Ambert and the Canton of Ambert (until 2015: Canton Arlanc ).
geography
Arlanc is located about 64 kilometers southeast of Clermont-Ferrand and about 51 kilometers west of Saint-Étienne in the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park . The river Dolore and the river Dore flow through the municipality . Arlanc is surrounded by the neighboring communities Marsac-en-Livradois in the north, Chaumont-le-Bourg in the northeast, Beurières in the east and northeast, Medeyrolles in the east, Dore-l'Église in the south and southeast, Mayres in the south and southwest, Novacelles in the West and Saint-Bonnet-le-Chastel to the northwest.
The former Routes nationales 106 (today's D906) and 499 (today's D300 and D999A) lead through the municipality .
