The Arrondissement Ambert is an administrative district in the department of Puy-de-Dôme in the French region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The main town ( sub-prefecture ) is Ambert .

history

On March 4, 1790, with the establishment of the Puy-de-Dôme department, a District d'Ambert was also founded, which essentially coincided with today's arrondissement. With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the district became the arrondissement Ambert. From September 10, 1926 to June 1, 1942, the arrondissement was dissolved, the area belonged to the Arrondissement Thiers at this time .
