The Arrondissement Mauriac is an administrative district in the Cantal in the French region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The main town ( sub-prefecture ) is Mauriac .
history
On March 4, 1790, with the establishment of the Cantal department, a District de Mauriac was also founded, which was already identical to the current arrondissement. With the foundation of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the district became the arrondissement Mauriac.
geography
The arrondissement borders in the north on the arrondissement Issoire in the department Puy-de-Dôme , in the east on the arrondissement Saint-Flour , in the south on the arrondissement Aurillac and in the west on the arrondissements Tulle and Ussel in the department Corrèze , region Limousin .
