Brageac is a French municipality with 76 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the canton of Mauriac (until 2015 Pleaux ) and the arrondissement of Mauriac . The inhabitants are called Brageacois .

Brageac is about 35 kilometers north-northwest of Aurillac . Neighboring communities are Chalvignac in the north and north-west, Mauriac in the north and east, Ally in the south-east, Chaussenac in the south and Pleaux in the west and south-west.

From 1973 to 1985 Brageac was part of the parishes of Ally and Drignac.
