Saint-Chamant ( Occitan Sanch Amanç ) is a municipality in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ) and with 239 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The municipality belongs to the Cantal department , the Mauriac arrondissement and is part of the canton of Naucelles (until 2015 Salers ).

Saint-Chamant is located about twenty kilometers north of Aurillac in the Massif Central . Saint-Chamant is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-Valmeroux in the north, Saint-Projet-de-Salers in the east, Saint-Cernin in the south and Saint-Cirque-de-Malbert in the west.
