The Canton Salers was 2015 a French constituency in Cantal and in the former region Auvergne . It included 12 parishes in the Mauriac arrondissement ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Salers . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015, the communes were assigned to other cantons. Bruno Faure was last representative in the conseil général des Départements from 2004 to 2015.

In the course of the reorganization of the cantons in 2015, the canton of Salers was dissolved. Its communes were assigned to other cantons of the department:
- Anglards-de-Salers, Le Fau, Fontanges, Saint-Bonnet-de-Salers, Saint-Martin-Valmeroux, Saint-Paul-de-Salers, Saint-Vincent-de-Salers, Salers and Le Vaulmier were included in the Canton of Mauriac incorporated;
- Saint-Chamant and Saint-Projet-de-Salers came to the new canton of Naucelles ;
- Le Falgoux was added to the canton of Riom-ès-Montagnes .
