The canton Montsalvy was 2015 a French canton in the department of Cantal and in the former region Auvergne . It comprised 13 parishes in the arrondissement of Aurillac ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Montsalvy . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Vincent Descœur was the last representative in the conseil général des Départements from 1988 to 2015.
