The Canton Pierrefort was 2015 a French canton in the department of Cantal and in the former region Auvergne . It comprised eleven parishes in the arrondissement of Saint-Flour ; its main town (French: chef-lieu ) was Pierrefort . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the conseil général des Départements was Louis Galtier from 1988 to 2015.
