Alf Koksvik

Alf Koksvik (born December 30, 1968 ) is a Norwegian biathlon trainer and official.

Alf Koksvik practiced biathlon as a teenager, but ended his sporting career at the age of twenty. He trained in sports management and then worked for the Norwegian Olympic Committee. From there he moved to the Norwegian Biathlon Association as General Secretary in 2000. In this position he headed the association until 2006 and then moved to the post of sports director. In the years in which Koksvik headed the association, the number of young biathletes in Norway increased from around 900 to 1800 by 1900. He also helped to improve sponsorship. Norwegian biathletes have won gold medals at biathlon world championships 18 times during Koksvik's tenure as general secretary and head of sport . At the Olympic Games in 2002 , his athletes, in the person of Ole Einar Bjørndalen, won gold four times in Salt Lake City .
