The canton Aurillac-3 is a French constituency in the Cantal and the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It covers part of the city of Aurillac in the Aurillac arrondissement .

history

The canton was created on July 23, 1973 as one of four cantons that replaced the cantons Aurillac-Nord and Aurillac-Sud in the area of ​​Aurillac and its surrounding area. In addition to part of Aurillac, it included the municipalities of Arpajon-sur-Cère , Labrousse , Prunet , Vézac and Vezels-Roussy . In 1982 these communes were added to the newly founded canton Arpajon-sur-Cère , and Aurillac-3 has since been limited to the urban area of ​​Aurillac. With the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, it was given a different shape. In addition, his INSEE code changed from 1524 to 1503.
