Montsalvy is a French municipality with 817 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; administratively it belongs to the arrondissement Aurillac and is part of the canton Arpajon-sur-Cère (until 2015: canton Montsalvy ).
