Velzic ( Occitan is identical), a French site and a community with 430 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and the canton of Vic-sur-Cère (until 2015 Aurillac-4 ). The inhabitants are called Velzicois .

location

Velzic belongs to the historic region of Carladès and is located about 13 kilometers northeast of the city center of Aurillac . Velzic is surrounded by the neighboring municipality of Laroquevieille in the north and north-west, Lascelle in the north and north-east, Vic-sur-Cère in the east and south-east, Polminhac in the south and south-east, Saint-Simon in the south and south-west and Marmanhac in the west.
