Arnac ( Occitan identical) is a French municipality with 171 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and the canton of Saint-Paul-des-Landes (until 2015 Laroquebrou ). The inhabitants are called Arnacois .

location

Arnac is located about 23 kilometers northwest of Aurillac in the Massif Central in the Châtaigneraie natural landscape . Arnac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pleaux in the north, Saint-Martin-Cantalès in the northeast, Saint-Illide in the east, Saint-Santin-Cantalès in the south, Cros-de-Montvert in the west and Saint-Julien-aux-Bois in the north-west.
