Montmurat is a French municipality with 134 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . It belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and is part of the canton of Maurs . The inhabitants are called Montmuratois .

location

Montmurat is located in the Massif Central , about 39 kilometers southwest of Aurillac . Montmurat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Santin-de-Maurs in the north, Saint-Santin in the east, Livinhac-le-Haut in the south and southeast and Montredon in the south and west.
