Ytrac (Occitan: Eitrac) is a municipality in the French region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and has 4293 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and the canton of Aurillac-1 . The inhabitants are called Ytracois .
location
Ytrac is located in the Massif Central between the Authre and Cère rivers and borders directly on the urban area of Aurillac , about 6.5 kilometers west-southwest of the city center of Aurillac. The municipality itself consists of the localities Le Bex , Espinat and Ytrac .
history
The castle complex of Ytrac (Château d'Ytrac) was a primitive fortress. on the other hand, the Château de Lamartinie , which was built in 1592, enjoys the status of Monument historique (PA00093726).
