The Authre is a river in France that runs in the Cantal department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Volcans d'Auvergne Regional Nature Park in the municipality of Lascelle , drains generally in a south-west to west direction and flows into the Cère after 42 kilometers in the municipality of Lacapelle-Viscamp as a right tributary in the backwater of the Lac du Barrage de Saint-Étienne-Cantalès .
