Girgols is a French city and a municipality with 126 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and the canton of Naucelles (until 2015 Saint-Cernin ).

Girgols belongs to the historic region of Carladès and is located about 13 kilometers north-northeast of the city center of Aurillac . Girgols is surrounded by the neighboring municipality of Tournemire in the north, Saint-Projet-de-Salers in the north and northeast, Lascelle in the east and southeast, Laroquevieille in the south, Marmanhac in the south and southwest and Saint-Cernin in the west.
