Cayrols ( Occitan Cairòls ) is a French municipality with 294 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Aurillac and the canton of Saint-Paul-des-Landes (until 2015 Saint-Mamet-la-Salvetat ). The inhabitants are called Cayrolais .

location

Cayrols is located about seventeen kilometers west-southwest of Aurillac in the Massif Central , in the Châtaigneraie natural landscape . Cayrols is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Rouget-Pers in the north, Saint-Mamet-la-Salvetat in the east and northeast, Boisset in the south and southeast, Rouziers in the south and southwest, Parlan in the west and Roumégoux in the northwest.

The national route 122 runs through the municipality .
