Saint-Martin-Valmeroux ( Occitan Sant Martin de Valmaron ) is a French municipality with 734 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Mauriac and the canton of Mauriac (until 2015 the canton of Salers ).

Saint-Martin-Valmeroux is about 25 kilometers north of Aurillac on the Maronne . Saint-Martin-Valmeroux is surrounded by Saint-Bonnet-de-Salers in the north, Saint-Paul-de-Salers in the east, Fontanges in the east and southeast, Saint-Projet-de-Salers in the southeast, Saint-Chamant in the south, Saint-Cirgues-de-Malbert in the southwest, Sainte-Eulalie in the west and Drugeac in the northwest.
The former route nationale 680 (today's D680) runs through the municipality .
