Veyrières ( Occitan Veirièiras ) is a French commune of 112 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Mauriac and the canton of Ydes (until 2015 Saignes ). The inhabitants are called Veyrièrois .

geography

Veyrières is located in the north-western foothills of the Monts du Cantal massif, about 43 kilometers north-north-west of Aurillac on the Dordogne , which borders the municipality in the north-west. Veyrières is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Champagnac in the north and north-east, Bassignac in the east, Jaleyrac in the south, Arches in the west and south-west and Sérandon in the west and north-west.
