Méallet ( Occitan Mialet ) is a French municipality with 170 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Cantal in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ). It belongs to the canton of Riom-ès-Montagnes ( Mauriac until 2015 ) and the Mauriac arrondissement . The inhabitants are called Méalletois .

Méallet is about forty kilometers north of Aurillac . Neighboring communities are Bassignac in the north, Sauvat in the north and northeast, Auzers in the east and northeast, Moussages in the east and southeast, Anglards-de-Salers in the south, Le Vigean in the southwest and Jaleyrac in the west.
