The Guggernüll is a mountain in the canton of Graubünden with an altitude of 2886  m above sea level. M. It lies on the border between the communities Rheinwald and Mesocco .

To the north, the Guggernüll drops steeply over 1300 meters into the Rheinwald to the towns of Nufenen and Splügen . In the south, the terrain is less steep over the Areua Pass ( 2508  m above sea level ) to Pizzo Tambo ( 3279  m above sea level ). In the west, the deep gorge of Val Curciusa , which mostly belongs to Mesocco, separates the mountain from the Einshorn ( 2944  m above sea level ). In the east lies the valley of the Tambobach with the Tamboalp, behind which lies the Splügenpass ( 2215  m above sea level ) in the southeast .

The Guggernüll is often committed on ski tours . The increase in summer the hiking route to Areuapass through roadless terrain is the difficulty classified T3.

The name Guggernüll or Guggernell for hills and mountain heads is widespread among the Bündner and Vorarlberg Walsers . It comes from the Swiss German Guggernell and similar, which means "roof window" or "attic room". As a site name, the word describes a viewing point, a viewing pinnacle.
