The Arrondissement Valence is an administrative unit of the French Drôme within the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes . The administrative seat ( prefecture ) is Valence . With effect from February 1, 2006, the cantons Dieulefit, Marsanne, Montélimar-1 and Montélimar-2 moved from the Arrondissement of Valence to the Arrondissement of Nyons as part of an administrative reform.
It consists of 12 cantons and 103 municipalities.

Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the 17 municipalities of Bouvante , Le Chaffal , Cliousclat , Échevis , Léoncel , Livron-sur-Drôme , Loriol-sur-Drôme , Mirmande , La Motte-Fanjas , Oriol-en-Royans , Rochechinard , Saint-Jean-en-Royans , Saint-Laurent-en-Royans , Saint-Martin-le-Colonel , Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans , Saint-Thomas-en-Royans and Sainte-Eulalie-en-Royans were made from the Arrondissement Valence assigned to the Arrondissement Die and the municipality Saulce-sur-Rhône assigned to the Arrondissement Nyons .
For this purpose, the municipality of Ourches was assigned to the Arrondissement of the Arrondissement of Valence.
