Parnans is a French municipality with 697 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Drôme des collines (until 2015 Romans-sur-Isère-2 ). The inhabitants are called Parnanais .

Parnans is located about 32 kilometers northeast of Valence on the river La Joyeuse . Parnans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montmiral in the north, Montagne in the northeast, Saint-Lattier in the east and southeast, Châtillon-Saint-Jean in the south and west and Saint-Michel-sur-Savasse in the northwest.
