Gervans is about 18 kilometers north of Valence on the Rhône and in the Crozes-Hermitage wine-growing region . Gervans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Érôme in the north, Crozes-Hermitage in the south and east, Saint-Jean-de-Muzols in the south-west, Lemps in the west and Vion in the north-west.

The National Route 7 runs through the municipality .
