The inhabitants are called Clérieusois .

Clérieux is located about 17 kilometers north-northeast of Valence . The river Herbasse flows through the municipality and the village . Clérieux is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marsaz in the north and north-west, Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse in the north and north-east, Saint-Bardoux in the east, Granges-les-Beaumont in the south and south-east, Beaumont-Monteux in the south-west, Chanos- Curson in the west and south-west, Mercurol-Veaunes in the west and Chavannes in the north-west.
