Portes-lès-Valence is a French municipality with 10,610 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Valence-3 . The inhabitants are called Portois (es) .
geography
Portes-lès-Valence is located on the east bank of the Rhône and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Valence in the north, Montlégér in the northeast, Beauvallon in the east, Étoile-sur-Rhône in the south and Soyons in the west.
The A7 Autoroute from Lyon to Marseille and Route nationale 7 run through the municipality .
