Montmiral is located about 32 kilometers northeast of Valence . The small river Savasse flows through the municipality . Montmiral is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Valherbasse with Saint-Bonnet-de-Valclérieux in the north, Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye in the east and northeast, Montagne in the east and southeast, Parnans in the south, Saint-Michel-sur-Savasse in the west as well Saint-Laurent-d'Onay in the north-west.
