geography
Anneyron is located about 38 kilometers southeast of Saint-Étienne between Lyon and Marseille . Anneyron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bougé-Chambalud in the north, Épinouze in the northeast, Saint-Sorlin-en-Valloire in the east, Châteauneuf-de-Galaure in the southeast, Mureils and Fay-le-Clos in the south, Albon in the southwest and Saint- Rambert-d'Albon to the west and north-west.

In 1809 the municipality was created from the neighboring municipality of Albon and the village of Mantaille.
