Arthémonay is a French municipality with 588 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Drôme des collines (until 2015 Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse ).

Arthémonay is located about 30 kilometers northeast of Valence . The municipality is bounded to the east by the Chalon River . Arthémonay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Crépol in the north, Le Chalon in the east and northeast, Geyssans in the east and southeast, Peyrins in the south and Margès in the west.
