Saint-Ange church

Geyssans is a French municipality with 717 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Drôme des collines (until 2015: canton of Romans-sur-Isère-1 ). The inhabitants are called Clérieusois .

Geyssans is located about 23 kilometers north-northeast of Valence . The small river Chalon flows along the northwestern edge of the municipality . Geyssans is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Chalon in the north, Saint-Michel-sur-Savasse in the east and northeast, Châtillon-Saint-Jean in the east and southeast, Triors in the southeast, Génissieux in the south, Peyrins in the west and southwest and Arthémonay in the northwest .
