Rochefort-Samson is a French commune with 1,007 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the north of the department Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes .

The place is in the east of the fertile plain in the confluence of the Isère in the Rhone . The municipality borders the Vercors Mountains to the east . Rochefort-Samson is about eleven kilometers south-east of Bourg-de-Péage and about 20 km east of Valence (as the crow flies). The highest point of the 24.59 km² municipal area is the 1330 m high Rocher des Deux-Sœurs . The two creeks Combe d'Oyan and Fleurs arise in the part of the Vercors Mountains belonging to the municipality of Rochefort-Samson.
