Bobby is a very successful Indian teenage romance film directed by Raj Kapoor in 1973.
action
The 18-year-old Raj Nath, son of the rich industrialist Mr. Nath, falls in love with the 16-year-old Bobby. She is the granddaughter of his former housekeeper and tutor and daughter of the poor Goan fisherman Jack Braganza.
It happened when Raj visited his old housekeeper and saw Bobby for the first time. For him it was love at first sight. But Raj realizes that his eccentric father will not simply put up with a relationship with a poor fisherman's daughter.
Raj does not want to give up and due to his persistence his father gives in and visits Jack, actually to ask him for his daughter's hand for Raj. Instead, he accuses Jack that his daughter's beauty is the key to Raj's money. He even offers Jack money just to have them leave Raj alone. Bobby's father feels humiliated by these accusations and berates Mr. Nath. Jack even locks Bobby up.
Raj becomes engaged to another girl named Alka Sharma. But Raj and Bobby can no longer live without each other and so Raj flees from home to marry Bobby. Ultimately, Mr. Nath admits his mistakes and takes Bobby, as daughter-in-law, into the family.
