Charmes-sur-l'Herbasse is a French municipality with 927 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Drôme in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Rhône-Alpes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Valence and the canton of Drôme des collines (until 2015 Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse ). The inhabitants are called Charmois .

Charmes-sur-l'Herbasse is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bathernay in the north and north-west, Montchenu in the north and north-east, Crépol in the east and north-east, Margès in the south and east, Saint-Donat-sur-l'Herbasse in the west and south-west as well Ratières to the west and north-west.
