It rises under the name Ruisseau de l'Étang in the municipality of Roybon , generally drains towards the southwest and flows into the right tributary after 40 kilometers below Pont de l'Herbasse , on the municipal boundary of Granges-les-Beaumont and Beaumont-Monteux the Isère . The Herbasse crosses the Isère and Drôme departments on its way .
