Chatuzange-le-Goubet is located in the Isère valley , four and a half kilometers southeast of Bourg-de-Péage and about 16 km east of Valence. Grenoble is located around 53 km northeast of Chatuzange-le-Goubet (as the crow flies).

The 28.24 km² large municipality covers part of the lower Isère valley. This land is very fertile and is therefore mainly used for agricultural purposes. Above all, cereals are grown. Chatuzange-le-Goubet is a clustered village , but in addition to the main settlement area, some hamlets and individual farms also belong to the municipality.
