9 places - 9 treasures is the title of a television program on Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). The moderator is Armin Assinger , since 2015 together with Barbara Karlich . In 2019 there was an offshoot with the title 9 Places - 9 Treasures: Austria Eats So Well , which was moderated by Barbara Karlich and Norbert Oberhauser .
The concept
The program was first broadcast on the evening before the Austrian National Day on October 25, 2014, on the occasion of the start of Bundesland heute in High Definition (HD) in the main evening program at 8:15 p.m. In a live show hosted by Armin Assinger , together with nine presenters from Bundesland heute , the most beautiful place was chosen from nine places in all of Austria. From October 1st to 7th, a preselection took place in the ORF state studios: from October 1st to 3rd, three options per federal state were presented in “State today”, and from October 4th to 7th it was possible to determine which one would be used by telephone Place the respective federal state in "9 Places - 9 Treasures" should be represented. The respective national winners will be presented on October 8th. The nine regional winners were finally presented in a live television broadcast and the most beautiful place in Austria was chosen by the audience by telephone together with nine celebrities from the federal states. The federal state candidates were each presented by a federal state today moderator of the respective state.
Award winners
In 2014 the Green Lake Tragöß was voted the most beautiful place in Austria.
In 2015, the program was broadcast on October 24, 2015. For this purpose, new places were determined at the beginning of October 2015. A book about the show was also published in 2015. The winner in 2015 was the Formarinsee with the Rote Wand . The Schneebergbahn took second place and the Longa came third.
In October 2015, ORF General Director Alexander Wrabetz announced that the program would continue in 2016.
On September 22, 2016, the 27 nominated seats for the October 26, 2016 broadcast were presented. The winner in 2016 was the Tyrolean Kaisertal , second place went to Ötschergräben , third place to Weinweg der Senses in Sankt Anna am Aigen .
In 2017, the Vorarlberger Körbersee was the winner, second place went to Salzburg's Habach Valley and third place to Ysperklamm in Lower Austria.
In 2018, the Schüsserlbrunn pilgrimage chapel took third place and Hintersteinersee and Walleralm took second place, the winner was the Schiederweiher . The 2018 show was watched by up to 1.018 million and an average of 915,000 viewers, the market share was 31 percent. This was the fifth time that the peak value exceeded the million mark.
2019 Vorarlberg for the third time after 2015 and 2017 with the Lünersee winner, the second place went to Styria with vineyards Hochgrail in St. Stefan ob Stainz , was third Lower Austria with the Waldviertler natural reservoirs ( Ottenstein reservoir , dam Dobra , Thurn Berger Reservoir ).

In April and May 2019, under the title 9 Places - 9 Treasures: This is how good Austria eats Austria's favorite dish was searched. Presenters from the nine ORF regional studios and celebrities advertised culinary specialties from the federal states, and the audience chose their favorite by phone. The final broadcast on May 25, 2019 was moderated by Barbara Karlich, supported by Norbert Oberhauser in the Greenroom .
The winner was the Mostviertler Mostbratl (Lower Austria), the cheese dumpling soup (Tyrol) landed in second place and the Bodenseefelchen (Vorarlberg) in third place . The final broadcast was followed by an average of 647,000 viewers, with a market share of 24 percent.
