Franz Neger (news anchor)

Franz Neger (born October 27, 1964 in Graz ) is an Austrian reporter and television presenter. Since 1989 he has been working as a reporter for ORF Steiermark and since 2002 he has moderated the show Steiermark heute .

Life

Franz Neger was born on October 27, 1964 in Graz and grew up on a small farm in Otternitz with four younger brothers. Negro attended elementary school in Gleinstätten and then the episcopal grammar school in Graz .

After completing his studies in theology, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Church History and, at the same time, completed a media studies course. His thesis was a radio report about the ÖH elections in 1988, which was actually broadcast. As a result, Neger was called by the then editor-in-chief Günther Ziesel , who offered him a job at ORF , which Neger accepted. From then on he worked there as a journalist and since 2002 as a moderator for Styria today .

Between 1991 and 1996 he traveled frequently for ORF through the former Yugoslavia , in particular to Slovenia , Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina .

Neger describes the Lassing mine disaster in 1998 as a particularly formative event , during which he was in continuous deployment for Styria today and in the picture for three weeks .

In 2015, Neger designed a 31-part documentary about the Second World War , in which he worked with contemporary witnesses. He also moderates the time travel series every Saturday , which Styria is now subordinate to.

Private

Franz Neger has a wife and two daughters named Karolina and Franziska. In addition, he says he is a vegetarian.
